St. Mike's LogoSt. Michael is a preK-8th grade private, Catholic school, and our FTC teams are comprised of seventh and eighth graders.

Our St. Michael robotics began in 2010 when our first team, Robotic Adrenaline, FIRST Tech Challenge Team (FTC) 4644 was founded.  That year Robotic Adrenaline was fortunate to be invited to participate in the World Competition.

The success of 4644’s first year of competition spurred a great deal of interest at our school, and the following year we had enough students interested to field a second FTC Team, 5330 – Robotic Rush.

In addition to growing within FTC, part of our business plan included growing in a sustainable manner, including the participation of younger students in grades 1-6.  Therefore, First Lego League (FLL) teams were  added to our robotics program.

Currently, we have robotics teams in grades 1-8, and grades 1-4 have in-classroom LEGO programs. Grades 4 (Storm Stroopers),  5 (The Rocket Turtles), and grade 6 (Saint Mechanics), compete at the regional FLL competition, while grades 7 and 8 robotic teams compete at the regional competition for FTC.
